Subscription Boxes – Which Ones Are Your Favorite?

I know I’m not alone with the appeal of all the subscription boxes out there.  It is such a guilty pleasure to receive these boxes and keep an eye on spoilers before they arrive. I have discovered products that I never would have known about before and they have also become a great source for stocking up on gifts. Over the last two years I have subscribed to many but recently reduced myself down as it was getting a bit much.

Current Favorites

Ipsy

First subscription I signed up for.  5 Beauty products a month with a unique good quality reusable little makeup bag. At $10 month it is easy to justify and even if I only love one of the products it tends to pay for itself. The little bags are wonderful. I have quite the collection now and use them for everything.

FabFitFun Box

This one is quarterly I have kept going for over two years now. It’s $49.99 a quarter and promises to have $200+ value with full-sized items. I have discovered some great products that I now use all the time. I also have quite the gift stash now which always comes in handy.  I do need to get better at using all the extra discounts and gift cards they send though.

Box of Style

This one is also quarterly at $99.99. It promises $400+ value with beauty and fashion finds. I have had this one for over a year now and while I’m sometimes tempted to stop due to the price, the value and items received are so lovely and great quality it’s hard to give up.  This is also a great source to stock up for gifts. I have found it pays for itself very easily.

An essential item for a puppy.

A favorite item to use for puppies to slow down their frenzied eating. This one has been invaluable with my current puppy who is nearly 1.  There are a variety out there – just search slow feeder dog bowl on Amazon. Most are under $10.  Have you tried one of these bowls?

A Favorite Dog Toy

Kong Wubba Dog ToyThe Kong Wubba Dog Toy.

As I own three large breed dogs that are heavy chewers I have found this is another great durable toy that has been a favorite with my dogs.  As I’m sure you already know the Kong brand makes really good  dog toys.  I have many of their toys along with collars & leashes. This toy in particular is great for playing tug of war. They come in various colors and sizes  and now even include a version that floats!   Per various training experts they say letting your dog win at tug of war is recommended as it builds a dogs confidence.

I will update later for a link to amazon. As usual the pricing on Amazon is great on these. Please share any favorite dog toys you own.

A Favorite Dog Toy

Sharing another favorite dog toy.  The PetSafe Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug Meal Dispensing Toy. Busy Buddy Dog Toy

I’m only listing dog toys that have held up well over time and have kept my dogs interest that I would buy again.  I have three large breed dogs that are tough on toys. This one is another durable toy that is also a  good toy to give your dogs when you leave the house to keep them entertained.   I just use dry kibble that my dogs already eat to put in the toy versus spending more money on special size treats.  I also reduce their regular meals by the kibble I use in the toy so they are not overeating. They come in 3 sizes.  It may take your dog a few days to get the hang of it, after that they seem to love it.  If you have a favorite dog toy please share.

As usual good prices on Amazon. I will update with a link once I figure out how to do links correctly.

Peloton Spin Cycle @ Home for Less

The popularity of the Peloton Spin Cycle has been catching my attention for some time now. However the price tag associated with set up not so much. This blog post from MyPurseStrings.com (link below) really caught my attention. All the groundwork is done for you in how to get the experience without the larger price tag.

I followed all recommended items including the newer bike upgrade to get the pedals to use clip in shoes I already owned.  Set up of the bike was super easy. I did need help in moving the bike to chosen room but was able to set up easily on my own in less than 30 minutes. Very sturdy and high quality bike for the price.  One week in so far and I love the easy quick access for daily use.

Thank you MyPurseStrings.com for doing all the research. Please click on link below for all the detail/links from that site.

A Favorite Dog Toy

The JW Pet Hol-ee Roller Dog Ball

Sharing a favorite dog toy for anyone interested. They come in different colors and sizes. They are  natural rubber and are very durable so far.  My 10 month old puppy loves them. She carries them around everywhere and even falls asleep with them in her mouth.  They are wonderful for training puppies to fetch as they can grab them easily. Also great for tug of war games. If I had to grab only one toy for my puppy this would be it.  I put the link below for Amazon as I have found them at least 30% cheaper than the box stores.  They also wash up great in the dishwasher.

Dog Love

Dogs are a big bit part of my life. I have three Labrador retrievers. All girls. Ages 13, 6 & 10 months. Three dogs is a lot most of the time, however I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When we just had one dog it was still our house. Two dogs meant they were starting to take over the house and now with three dogs it definitely became their house 100% of the time. I know you can relate if you have multiple dogs.

With each dog I learn more and there are things I wish I had done earlier and different with the older dogs. i.e. Skip the box store treat-based group obedience classes and seek out more personalized specialized classes when they are a puppy. More on that in another post – I have been doing classes with an amazing local dog training company and the results are amazing.

All in all, each day brings some new adventure from one or all of them. I wouldn’t have it any other way even if it does mean I probably need to sign up for direct deposit at my Vet sometimes.
