Ikea Vardagen Carafe with lid
I did an IKEA run this last weekend. I usually only stop by IKEA a few times a year to stock up on a few favorites. I hadn’t noticed these before so I grabbed one to try. I was looking for something that didn’t take up much room in the fridge to store brewed green tea and these are perfect and very inexpensive. Nice for serving water at the table as well. Now I need to buy a few more as I like it so much. Much better than bulkier jugs. 34oz $2.99 17oz $1.99
I always make sure to stock up on plain white paper napkins as well. FANTASTISK Paper Napkin
I’ve been planning on getting some Hemnes dressers for a guest room but decided to wait until they go on sale as it’s not an immediate need. I usually see them go on sale a few times a year with the friends & family discount. I plan to upgrade them a bit with nicer hardware or overlays.
What are your favorite items to get at IKEA?
Wishing you a lovely day……..
OXO Food Storage Container Set
General Household Tool Kit
Stainless Steel Turntable
Foldable Step Stool
Selk Inking Address Stamp
Sharing some gift ideas for someone moving into their first home. We have a family member who just bought their first home which is a very exciting time for them. I really wanted to get away from the typical housewarming gifts or gift cards and get some things that you don’t realize you need until after you move in. Especially with a first home when you are starting from scratch! I tend to stay away from decor items unless they are very general as everyone has their own taste.
- Maglite flashlight
- Small foldable step stool
- OXO storage canisters for the pantry
- Basic tool kit
- Self inking address stamp
- Stainless steel turntable
Would love to hear gift ideas from others?

I know I’m not alone with the appeal of all the subscription boxes out there. It is such a guilty pleasure to receive these boxes and keep an eye on spoilers before they arrive. I have discovered products that I never would have known about before and they have also become a great source for stocking up on gifts. Over the last two years I have subscribed to many but recently reduced myself down as it was getting a bit much.
First subscription I signed up for. 5 Beauty products a month with a unique good quality reusable little makeup bag. At $10 month it is easy to justify and even if I only love one of the products it tends to pay for itself. The little bags are wonderful. I have quite the collection now and use them for everything.
This one is quarterly I have kept going for over two years now. It’s $49.99 a quarter and promises to have $200+ value with full-sized items. I have discovered some great products that I now use all the time. I also have quite the gift stash now which always comes in handy. I do need to get better at using all the extra discounts and gift cards they send though.
Box of Style
This one is also quarterly at $99.99. It promises $400+ value with beauty and fashion finds. I have had this one for over a year now and while I’m sometimes tempted to stop due to the price, the value and items received are so lovely and great quality it’s hard to give up. This is also a great source to stock up for gifts. I have found it pays for itself very easily.
What subscription boxes do you value the most?
